Congressional Baseball Game
The Congressional Baseball Game is a bipartisan event enjoyed by thousands each year. Members of the United States Congress from each party square off on the field, so support Washington, DC area charities. In 2017, my role consisted of updating and maintaining the website, creating graphics for a variety of mediums, including websites, marketing material, merchandise, and even designing advertising screens at the Washington National’s Stadium.
This event proved to be an exercise in rapid response and adaptability after the tragic shooting of Steve Scalise at our practice game forced our staff to make urgent changes to our event strategy, including day-of design and program changes at Nationals Stadium, and updates to our web systems to manage an influx of visitors and donations. The event was a success, with record attendance of 25,000 people, and raising 1.5 million dollars.
